As of April 2025, Indonesia offers various visa options for international travelers, including Visa on Arrival (VoA), visa-free entry, and pre-arranged visas. These policies apply uniformly across Indonesia, including popular destinations like Bali.

Visa-Free Entry

Indonesia grants visa-free entry to citizens of the following 13 countries for short visits:

  1. Brunei Darussalam

  2. Cambodia

  3. Colombia

  4. Hong Kong

  5. Laos

  6. Malaysia

  7. Myanmar

  8. Philippines

  9. Singapore

  10. Suriname

  11. Thailand

  12. Timor-Leste

  13. Vietnam

These travelers can enter Indonesia without a visa for tourism purposes and stay for up to 30 days.

Visa on Arrival (VoA)

Citizens from 97 countries are eligible for a Visa on Arrival, allowing a stay of up to 30 days, extendable once for another 30 days. The VoA can be obtained upon arrival at designated entry points or applied for online as an Electronic Visa on Arrival (e-VoA) before traveling.

Countries Requiring a Visa Before Arrival

Travelers from countries not listed under the visa-free or VoA categories must obtain a visa prior to arrival. Additionally, certain countries are designated under Indonesia's "Calling Visa" policy, requiring special clearance from the Directorate General of Immigration in Jakarta.
